We had a great meeting yesterday with lots of new faces! We had a more intimate group with 9 people attending so everyone had a chance to talk with everyone and learn more about each others’ businesses.
Jan Sutton with Farmer’s insurance presented today and told us about Certificates of Liability Insurance. Whenever you hire a contractor Jan strongly recommends requesting a certificate so you can see exactly what your contractor’s insurance policies are. She also told us to make sure that the name on the certificate matches the name of the contractor and that the description of the work is outlined in the certificate as well.

Robert McGlothlin, President and Founder of Grassroots, is giving a presentation today at the Building Bridges networking group. Building Bridges meetings every 1st and 3rd Thursday at noon at the Old Town Sports Pub in Old Town Manassas. Roger Jones of Gainesville Plumbing is hosting an Elite Networking Mixer on September 19th at 10am at the VA BBQ located at 9952 Liberia Ave in Manassas. Eric Fakunle of Legal Shield hosts NOVA Small Business Networking at the Woodbridge Uno’s every 2nd Friday of the month. They meet at 7:45 am. Each meeting has 3 featured business presentations so if you’re looking to get the word about your business this is a great place to do it!

Business Alliance Network meets every Wednesday from 12-1:30 at Alto Plaza located at 5800 Old Centreville Rd in Centreville, VA.

BOSS is a networking group that meets for lunch. Their next meeting is Tuesday the 21st and the meet at Oak Grill at the Fair Oaks Marriott. Double check with Tracey about the time if you’re interested in going.
Tracey’s BNI group meets at the Fairfax Golf Club and has 41 members – a great way to get your database boosted! They meet Thursdays at 7:30 am.
